I have maxiscan ms309 and I have not dared to try it yet ------------------------- user manual 4.2 Erasing Codes CAUTION: Erasing the Diagnostic Trouble Codes may allow the code reader to delete not only the codes from the vehicle’s on-board computer, but also “Freeze Frame” data and manufacturer enhanced data. ------------------------ "manufacturer enhanced data" what this means ? "may allow.." this sounds bad, erasing the Diagnostic Trouble Codes and it is possible that Manufacturer Enhanced Data vanish also is it posible that my car won`t start again or something Irreversible damages? is it possible just remove Trouble Codes and leave Freeze Frame data / manufacturer enhanced data alone - Can you tell when it is safe to erase Diagnostic Trouble Codes thank you :) ------------------

There is no danger here. Erasing codes not only delete the generic OBD II codes stored in the vehicle ECU, but also the codes defined by your vehicle manufacturer. Some freeze frame data will also be deleted. This notice is for you to consider carefully to do the erasing codes. Because sometimes erasing codes can't fix your problem, you may need to take the car to a workshop then if the codes still saving in the ECU, it is better understandable for the mechanics to find out what occured in your car. For an ordinary user, when your car got into some kind of troubles, you would like to check if you can fix it by yourself. So you scan the car, read the codes and try to fix it, and you believe you did fix it, then you will want to erase the codes to see if you had fixed it successfully.

I have a 2005 Mercedes C230 Kompressor. Can't get past "Linking Error" on the MS309. Anyone know if this unit works with this car?

MS309 is discontinued, sorry that we cannot help.
